I was born into a Christian home in Brunei. As a child my parents taught me about the Lord Jesus Christ from the Bible. My father is a preacher in our home church and my mother translates the sermons into Mandarin. However it was not until I was 13 that I realised that I personally was a sinner and needed to believe for myself in Christ. I accepted Him as my Saviour and I experienced the joy and peace that He brings. When I was 16 I was baptised as a believer.
In 2014 I left Brunei to study here at the University of Sheffield. Since being in Sheffield my faith in and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ has deepened. Professor Derek Linkens invited me to the Grace Reformed Fellowship where I enjoyed good sound Bible teaching. Also I have attended the Youth Fellowship at Sheffield Chinese Christian Church and have worked in their Sunday School. When the Grace Reformed Fellowship closed in July 2016 I came with Derek Linkens and others to attend Owlerton Evangelical Church which also has sound Bible teaching. I have found the preaching at Owlerton to be real and relevant to my daily walk as a believer. The fellowship in the church is loving and caring and I soon settled in this spiritual home.
As I close my testimony let me share some words that have especially blessed me from Philippians Chapter 4 and verse 19 – “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus”.
